Returns:

The GMT offset.

getGreenwichMeanTimeOffset

Gets the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) offset from the supplied timeZone, at the current time.

Parameters:

timeZone - The time zone to get the GMT offset from.

Returns:

The GMT offset.

Throws:

NullPointerException - When the supplied timeZone is null.

getGreenwichMeanTimeOffset

public static String getGreenwichMeanTimeOffset(TimeZone timeZone,
                                                long timeInMilliSeconds)

Gets the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) offset from the supplied timeZone, at the supplied timeInMilliSeconds.
The format of the returned String is: "GMT(+|-)HH[:MM]". In the Netherlands for example "GMT+01:00" would be returned when DST (Daylight Savings Time) is off, since the Dutch have a one hour difference with GMT. With DST, "GMT+02:00" would have been returned.

Parameters:

timeZone - The time zone to get the GMT offset from.

timeInMilliSeconds - The time in milliseconds.

Returns:

The GMT offset.

Throws:

NullPointerException - When the supplied timeZone is null.

getGreenwichMeanTimeOffset

public static String getGreenwichMeanTimeOffset(int timeZoneOffset)

Gets the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) offset from the supplied timeZoneOffset in minutes.
The format of the returned String is: "GMT(+|-)HH[:MM]". When -60 is supplied, GMT+01:00 will be returned as negative offsets are to the right of GMT by convention.

Parameters:

timeZoneOffset - The time zone offset in minutes to get the GMT offset from.

Returns:

The GMT offset.

toString

public static String toString(TimeZone timeZone,
                              Locale locale)

Creates a String representation of the supplied timeZone.

Parameters:

timeZone - The timeZone to convert to a String.

locale - The locale to localize the String.

Returns:

A String representation of the supplied timeZone.
